Born in 1949, Behrooz
Yaghmaian, a graduate of dramatic Arts faculty of Art University
in stage design, commenced his innovative career by designing and
producing educational software for Azad University and Industrial
University in 1970’s. Since then, he has demonstrated his
pioneering presence in the movie production in Iran by producing
various series and short animated films for Iran's TV.
In addition to his
work as a director, Yaghmaian has been involved in cinematography
aspect of movie production, i.e., he has designed the stages of
films, including Dadsetan (persecutor), Ali and the Jungle Monster,
and Malek Khatoon. Among his renowned animated works in Iran are
the following films:

Of the foregoing
films, Yaghmaian has been successful in selling some of his work,
including: The Sun of Egypt and The Prophet, which is being broadcast
in Turkey’s Home Video, and Old-Time Stories in Arab countries
for Home Video.
Among Yaghmaian’s
other striking credentials, he has obtained numerous Iranian and
foreign awards, including the following:

- Diploma of Honor of Isfahan Children Festival 2000
- The Jury special Prize of Sima Festival 2001
- The Jury Prize of Second Iranian-Greek Festival 2002
- The Best Picture Selected by Audiences of Isfahan Festival 2003
- The Jury Special Prize of Isfahan Children Festival 2003
- Diploma of Honor of Sport Movies of Milan 2003
Currently, Yaghmaiian
has divulged his interest into production of a fictional animated
film, partly musical, named Jamshid and Khorshid, a feature film.
This film has been adapted from Iranian traditional love stories,
which quite beautifully depicts the elegance of the Iranian culture
and values.
The completion of
the film, Jamshid and Khorshid, including its design and performance
will take up to approximately two and half (2 1/2 ) years. Also,
it will require the support of more than sixty (140) staff designers
and performers to bring the production of this animated love story
into a successful finishing point.
